Dr Molesworth is an award-winning farmer, scientist, and respected advocate for climate-resilient agriculture. She is widely recognised for her work on climate change, food insecurity, and sustainable farming systems.

Through her research, on-farm experience, and international development work, she has become a powerful voice for healthy ecosystems, nutritious local crops, and strong, vibrant communities.

In accepting the role, Dr Molesworth said:

“It is a true honour to be appointed an Ambassador for Food Plant Solutions. In a world grappling with climate change and food insecurity, it is more important than ever that we step up as a global community to combat these challenges. The exciting thing is we have so many of the solutions already – and they’re right at our feet! Healthy ecosystems grow nutritious food and support vibrant communities.”

“Food Plant Solutions is at the forefront of efforts to equip local communities with the skills and knowledge to grow nutrient-dense, native foods. These plants are climate resilient and fuel bodies with essential vitamins and minerals. Farmers hold so much essential wisdom on how to care for their homes and nourish people with good diets. When we lift farmers up, we lift the world up. I encourage everyone to join Food Plant Solutions and help create a thriving healthy planet together.”

FPS is honoured to have Dr Molesworth’s expertise and leadership supporting this next chapter.

Founded in Tasmania in 2007 by the Rotary Club of Devonport North, Food Plant Solutions specialises in creating science-based education resources using information from the Food Plants International database developed by Bruce French AO.  The resources are practical and evidence-based and help communities grow and use nutrient-dense, climate-resilient local plants. With over 250 published resources for 60+ countries, FPS is internationally recognised for its practical action on food insecurity and malnutrition.

Dr Molesworth’s appointment comes at a time of growing global demand for FPS resources and increasing recognition of the critical role local food plants play in sustainable nutrition and community resilience.

Her voice, experience, and advocacy will help amplify FPS’s mission and strengthen our impact across Australia and around the world.
